::Tangents is the collection spot for the things we're thinking about, obsessively researching, and doing at home and on the web.

Katie's Tangents

I'm still thinking about making a short stop motion piece using knitted figures. Since obsessive research precedes any big project I undertake, I have started a Pinterest board with videos and articles that have been helpful.

There are a few stop motion pieces that I'm particularly inspiring to me- I always delight in Anna Hrachovec's knitted animations over at Mochimochi Land, and Sally's Mavor's Rabbitat is fun to watch. This knitted commercial is incredible (here's a bit more about the making of this video) and I like the stop motion robot in this short film.

I wish I had found out about this Kickstarter campaign in time to contribute! The Spoon, the Bowl and the Knife is going to be a documentary about Swedish craftsman Wille Sundqvist made by his son Jogge. Either way, I look forward to the film!

Laura's Tangents

Katie and I had a great afternoon teaching a how to knit class at the Whippoorwill Festival-if you are in the region, I'd recommend checking it out next year!

Also for regional folks-I went to the Gaiam outlet just north of Cincinnati this week. They have yoga mats and gear, organic cotton bedding, clothes, and lots of other stuff-70% off. The store is only open one weekend a month-to get the email announcements of when it send an email here: Gaiam@email.gaiam.com
