::Tangents is the collection spot for the things we're thinking about, obsessively researching, and doing at home and on the web.
I finally finished my scarf today!
We went to a solstice party at a friend's permaculture farm last night-always so inspiring. Isaac is headed down to check out one of the little ponds:
between Susana's ponds and Katie's I really want to add a garden pond to our place-maybe the backhoe can make me one when they do the finish grading around our house?
- Lately, if things don't feel quite right, I'm finding it's best to just go to the creek.
It makes my heart glad to see the boys and their friend exploring the creek and paddling around. The obliging beavers have made a dam across the creek again, so it is deep (enough for boats- but the boys can still stand up...), wide and calm.
And I can sit on the bank and knit, and watch them pass by now and then...
It's the best.
- We have a new addition to our backyard-
A kitten's been hanging around for about a month, so we're figuring she may be here to stay. I *just* touched her for the first time the other day. She's very wild. She waits until the chickens retire for the night and sleeps in their coop. I'm doing a lot of reading on working to tame feral kittens, and have been making progress. We'll see.
- Julian's been reading Hardy Boys mysteries this summer and it makes me remember the Cherry Ames books Laura and I read on our summer break long ago. I wonder what it would be like to read one now? I may have to try it.
