I'm so glad to say that I've just uploaded two new videos to The Knitted Slipper Book page. We've been without internet for the last few days, and having an outage reminds me how much I depend on my broadband service!
Anyway, I thought it would be fun and helpful to have several videos which further illustrated techniques from the book that might be unfamiliar to most knitters. Of course, the instructions and photos from the book are complete, but sometimes it's nice to also see someone working, and the videos show how I knit, finish and felt the slippers in the book.
I'll be releasing one or two videos each day for the next week- leading right up to the book's launch on October 8. The first two are How to Knit Thrums,
And How to Hand Felt your Knits
All of the videos feature projects from the book, and you'll also see a few peaks into my studio. I'm excited to share them all with you- be sure to check in tomorrow for the next update!
If you'd like a taste of the projects in the book, you'll want to check out the newest issue of Knit Edge magazine. It features an excerpt from the book- the House Clogs project. This is a quick-to-knit project that features an unusual material for a sturdy, natural sole.
I'm especially looking forward to a live event with Planet Purl scheduled for October 8 at noon. This will be a live chat with me, and will give us a chance to talk more about the projects in the book.
Finally, there are Facebook events created for some upcoming Kentucky events- The Launch Party at Robie Books, and a Signing and Trunk Show at Rebelle Yarn Shop. I'd love to meet you, so please do see the Facebook pages or the book's events page for more information.
