Squirrelishly

Laura and I have been really busy in my tiny kitchen. We put up 13 dozen ears of corn,

and a bushel of apparently non-photogenic green beans. Also, 2 bushels of tomatoes turned into 24 quarts of crushed tomatoes,

Ideally, we'd like to have a tomato day three more times, so we each have a quart of tomatoes every week thorughout the year. It feels like a lofty goal. We'll see. And we still have plans to make salsa and chutney, pickles and pepper jelly. My garden is petering out, succumbing to the season and the drought, so it feels good to be putting up this local produce as my garden's bounty fades. What are you squirreling away for winter?

Grapes, grapes and more grapes. We had so many I first had to put it into pulpy juice and am now turning it into jam.
That's one of the reasons why I didn't get to the Berea Quilt Extravaganza this year.
