Sunday afternoon in the studio

Michael spent the afternoon scanning and resizing templates for the book, so I "couldn't" really use the computer to review pattern edits. Instead, I had fun messing around, making something new. More soon, but for now, here's a sneak peek.

Rough-cut lumber, twigs, neon paint

leather scraps, jump rings, Finca No. 8 cotton thread

Upgrading the lighting in my studio the first thing I'll do when I have more money to spend on the space, but for now, I work under my photography lights.

I don't know what that's for, but it gives me the idea of something similar for a coat rack. Instead of painting, you could make a mold of the twigs and cast something stronger?

Josh- that's a good idea. I've always been curious about making molds and casting stuff. Though for this project, I think you could use larger twigs/branches and it would be plenty sturdy enough. These twigs are teensy, about 2" long, and I used a 5/16" drill bit to make the holes for them. This is to hold necklaces/jewelry. More soon...
