Things we like and a teensy giveaway.

1. Laura's Felt Rainbow ball tutorial is on page 68 of the latest Mes Petites
Maines magazine, a free French craft ezine.

2. I have new plants growing in my garden thanks to the generosity of gardening friends.

I like living in a community of gardeners. I've got new garden beds that need to be filled up, so it's encouraging to get free plants. I have lots of baby heirloom tomato plants just about ready to share, so I am excited to reciprocate.

2. My local friend Laura Wick designs beautiful things and sells them on Ravelry and through Knit Picks Independent Designer program. I just added her newest pattern, the Basketweave Moderne Tote to my Ravelry queue.

I love the clean lines and the contrast of the leather straps and the knitted texture. Her patterns are carefully written and I hope to knit this bag soon, it would be a perfect accompaniment for a trip to the library.

I'm doing a mini-giveaway- a free copy of her pattern and a free copy any pattern of mine. To enter, leave a comment listing:

1. What you would use your Basketweave Moderne bag for- laptop bag, library tote, purse, etc... and

2. What pattern of mine you would choose.

I will choose the winner on Friday morning, so no entries after Friday at 8:00 AM Eastern Time. Good luck!
