Free Pattern- Little Birds
Katie
Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 05:24PM It's done! Click here to download a pdf pattern so you can make your own Little Bird. The pattern is also on Ravelry. They are fast and fun to knit. There's almost no seaming involved (though there may be a teensy bit of Kitchner stitching- don't fear!)
Also, this pattern is kicking off a 6-week series I am doing. I will be putting up a new free knitting pattern for a toy or decoration every Wednesday. Click the link in the top of the sidebar to subscribe to our blog so you don't miss a thing!
But back to the Little Birds- make one for your kiddos,

Or make two, they will keep each other company!

They are happy to perch just about anywhere.

I hope you have fun making Little Birds, please let me know if you have any questions about the pattern and leave a comment when you do make one, I'd love to see it if you blog about them!

They are so pretty, I think I'll take out my needles again.
I love the birds! I will have to try some and see if Jackson likes them!. :)
Thanks for this pattern! I have been looking for something to make for friends' new babies, this might be just the thing, and a stash-buster at that. Thanks!
Katie, these are so adorable! I can't wait to make them. Thanks so much!
Nice birds. Thank you!
These little birds are FABULOUS! Great work, I'm so proud of you!
Thank you so very much! I love birdies and these are an adorable pair of stash busters!
ARGH! Look at their little feet!!! They are so, so dear! Thanks so much for the pattern, I would love to link to this if you didn't mind.
Thanks everyone for your compliments and Rachel, please do link to the pattern, I am delighted that you like it.
Love them. They are so cute. Must get the never ending tunic off the needles, and cast these on ASAP! They would make great christmas ornaments!
Thanks for the pattern, Katie; the birds are so cute!
I was wondering why you say the pattern is not safe for children under 3? Is that because of the beak, eyes, and feet? Thanks!
These are so adorable...my 9yo has asked we make many of them so we can hang them from the ceiling all over her room! Thanks for sharing the pattern...
These are so sweet!
I love the beak and feet. I have just made a tui (that's a native bird here in New Zealand) out of a felted jersey and used wire for feet - the twigs look so much better!
Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your other patterns.
I came here from the Waldorf Craft yahoo group link.
Those birds are lovely, I can't wait to try them. I'm off to check out the rest of your site. Thanks
Cute! Thanks!!
Hey there, and it's october but anyways, thanks a lot for sharing the pattern, I really enjoyed making them for my mom, I made a nice project around them which turned out really good, in my humble opinion :p.
