Ordinary

You know how sometimes things fall together just so and an ordinary day turns out to feel charmed? Yesterday, Katie called to invite us to meet her and her boys at The Black Feather for a breakfast treat. Handmade, (by someone other than me) biscuits, bagels and crepes, um, who would say no?

Then we hit the library, where I found a 2009 calendar by Nikki McClure on the free shelf. I plan to repurpose some of the artwork to decorate our barren walls:

Katie took Eli, Isaac and Avery back to her house in her bike:

(Me and Julian took my car-my kids think it is a treat to ride in Katie's bike, her kids think it is a treat to ride in my car. Go figure.) Katie and I sorted and organized in her studio for hours while the boys snuggled together and watched a movie, then headed outside to make toad habitats. They must have been doing something right, because the yard's resident one-eyed toad showed up, much to everyone's delight:

Me and my boys headed home for a quick pancake dinner with Strider, and then a perfect evening swim. We headed home, pleasantly cool and tired, to bed.

Hello! I was wandering around the internet and came across your blog, probably through a link somewhere. I was scrolling through, admiring your style and nice photography, when your picture of the Black Feather sign stopped me in my tracks. My sister Rose works there! Happily surprised by the random connection, I called my sister to tell her about it and while on the phone with her, I scrolled down to your previous post right about the time she said, "Yeah, I think they are the sisters I split the Eames chairs with."
It is nice to come across such a connection to my (sorely missed) baby sister in one of the many craft/art blogs I enjoy checking out. I've been resisting saying it, but its just gonna come out anyhow... Small world, huh? :)
