Free knitting pattern- Deer Bean Bag

I love this little guy! He's a bona fide bean bag but also a little deer. He is very well camouflaged in the fallen leaves in my backyard.

He is just the right size for little hands to play with.

It only took me about an hour to knit his little body and another hour to make his antlers and ears and put him together, a super-quick knit, great for a gift.

I loved the idea of making a whole menagerie of bean bags so I made a bunch of friends for the little deer-

The frog, rabbit and bird will all be available in our new ebook- Handwork for the Holidays which is now available for pre-order! Please do check it out and let me know what you think! We've been working away on all these fun new projects and it's great to finally be able to share them. The book has 8 knitting patterns, 3 sewing patterns and 3 papercraft projects and you can pre-order it for a limited time to receive a 25% discount. We'll be running a contest to help promote the book, but meanwhile, if you are a craft blogger who would like to review the ebook for your readers, please contact us

On to the free pattern- click here to download the Deer Bean Bag knitting pattern.

This is the last week of the series of free knitting patterns, (see here for all of them) and it's been so fun to see how much everyone enjoys the projects. Thanks for all your enthusiasm! We are cooking up another series of free tutorials, stay tuned!!

He is darling, as are the other critters. (The birdie's legs--Gah! The bunnies ears--Nibble worthy! The froggie's hoppy feet and cute smile--Adorable!)
