I’ve just finished a big project-staining out house. We put an addition on ourselves three (ahem) years ago, and once the siding was nailed up we moved on to indoor parts of the project. I was very motivated to fit the staining in between rains and in warm enough weather before winter comes around again. Strider also finished our front porch recently. We’ve not had a porch and now that we do I love using it. This weekend was lovely and I spent time writing blog posts and reading A Pattern Language snuggled up on the sheepskin borrowed from the couch:

I love the way the siding looks with the crisp ivory trim.
My poor old clogs are wearing the stain now too-why did I let that stuff dry on them?
